Its true what they say, LA is the city of cars! No matter how much you think you wont need to drive in LA, forget it - hire a car... not only will it be cheaper, it will get to places many of the public transport systems wont - for such a large city, LA is only just begining to implement a mass transit system.

A vast area, Loa Angeles is best traversed by automobile, with its freeways being world famous, you can safely travel from most major tourist destinations in a short amount of time. Just dont give anyone the finger!

Busses and taxi's are the other major ways to get around. To give you an idea, to travel from LA to Disneyland is a one hour car or taxi trip (that taxi trip costs approx $100US.) though catching the bus and train will only cost you about $5, it will take you four hours!

Tipping is also expected in LA, so all taxi fares are base, gratuities are more, and usually around 20% of the fare is common.
