A call has gone out from the co-ordinators of Brisbane Pride Festival as they need your help. The Brisbane Pride giant Pride Flag has been misplaced!
No news wether it was some sticky fingers, or just a bad case of luck - but the iconic piece of material has gone missing.
After leading this year’s Pride Rally in June to Carnivale, the flag was placed behind the stage and from there has been misplaced.
"If anyone can help us with the whereabouts of this flag we would appreciate your information. Please email coordinatorofpride -a t- gmail.com if you remember anything about the whereabouts of the flag."
This flag is of major importance to the community, being the largest rainbow flag in Australia. When the Rainbow Flag turned 25 in 2003, the originator Gilbert Baker recreated a rainbow flag in the original 8 colours for Key West Pride Celebrations. This flag was 1.5 miles long and after the parade was cut into 150 pieces and sent to cities around the world. Brisbane Pride Festival is very proud to be the only organisation in Australia to receive a piece of this flag.
Please help Brisbane Pride find this important part of their History.
