ARIA has today announced that the current Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard will be the person who inducts Kylie Minogue into the ARIA Hall OF Fame this Sunday.
Although many would see that being inducted by the countries leader would be a high honour - its seems odd to us at Guidetogay.com that when Kylies core fan base is predominantly Gay, that a PM, who is known to be anti marriage equality, and consistently uses the equality debate as a means of segregation and political games, would be the person to do it?
We wonder if Kylie would step up on stage and call out the PM on behalf of her legions of fans, not only the gay community, but all Aussies who support equality and the pop princess.
Other GLBTI community members who are noted to be attending on the night include Ruby Rose and Molly Meldrum.
ARIA's said in a statement to Guidetogay.com that "The Prime Minister and Kylie met earlier this year in Japan when they were guests at the Australian Embassy fundraising dinner for the Japan tsunami disaster. The pop princess and the Prime Minister struck up a friendship over the dinner and both look forward to meeting each other again under much happier circumstances."
The ARIA's will be held at Sydney's Allphones Arena, and broadcast on GO!
